A pharmaceutical Micro-plant for the manufacturing of generic drugs.
An original project in the pharmaceutical industry.
A global and evolutionary solution for the manufacturing of generic drugs.
ACi Pharma micro lab., develops, made and built micro-plants for the manufacturing of generic drugs.
These are specifically oriented for the African, the Middle East, and the Central & Eastern European markets. Our concept offers a good solution to the unavailability of essential medicines to markets where the pharmaceutical industry is not developed or inadequate, in a context of globalization and low concurrence.
The cost of medicines supplied by multinationals often goes beyond what people can afford, giving them no choice but to buy medicines of lower quality, if not medicines of uncertain origin.
ACi Pharma micro lab., micro-plants are built within the frame of standard 40 feet high cube sea containers. These are placed side by side on the site of implementation, and interconnected by a central corridor giving access to the different manufacturing rooms. The construction corresponds to the very strict European Pharmaceutical Norms, and includes among other things: the isolation, the ventilation, the air filtration, cold and hot water distribution system, electricity, lighting, and furniture.
The equipment is installed according to the requirements of the client, and his manufacturing objectives. The modules can be used to manufacture dry forms (capsules, tablets, paediatric powders, suppositories), liquid forms and creams, or also to manufacture sterile forms (I.V. bags, ampoules and vials). The manufacturing of drugs destined to veterinary usage also constitutes a growing demand.
ACi Pharma micro lab., offers its clients multiple complementary services:
- Help for the preparation of registration files and for market analysis.
- Supply of active substances.
- Supply of packaging material and of equipment.
- Installation on site.
- Help for the maintenance.
- The upbringing of the personnel.
All these elements are important to ensure good quality manufacturing process, and guarantee the success of the project.
If ACi Pharma micro lab., offers the client a complete and integrated solution, it also conceives each
manufacturing unit specifically according to the client's needs, and to the characteristics of the local market. The layouts of the unit are regularly submitted to the client, the manufacturing technology and equipment choices are adapted to the situation of the local market and its evolutions. For each manufacturing unit, a team of 10 to 15 operators is needed, with capacities changing dramatically according to the choice of machinery. As example, a dry form manufacturing unit will manufacture
around 20.000 blister strips of 10 tablets or capsules per hour. An I.V. bag manufacturing line will have a capacity of 200 to 400 liters per hour.
These manufacturing units can easily be adapted into manufacturing of medicines for veterinary usage, or for the manufacturing of food products (drinks, yogurt or fruit based deserts, food supplements, etc.).
Potential clients in Africa.
To this day, ACi Pharma micro lab., concentrated most of its efforts on the African continent. The
company had the opportunity to do studies in different countries, enabling it to have a global view of the pharmaceutical market on the continent. Our studies showed characteristics that have been confirmed by professionals within the countries: the existence of important illegal medicine trade, a situation of monopoly held by major international companies, too low proportions of generic medicines available although they are so much cheaper, a lack of products especially during epidemics, labor force generally very cheap, numerous pharmacists and competent medical technicians without good jobs, etc.
It is with the knowledge of these aspects that ACi Pharma micro lab., developed the concept of its
micro-plants destined for local manufacturing. Most of the technical equipment has been selected for their low automation, making the maintenance so much easier and offering so many more jobs. Training of the personnel is programmed to adapt their competence to the specific manufacturing technology. The technical parts of the equipment are accessible from outside of the manufacturing zone, both for the comfort of the technician and to maintain the high standard of cleanness of the "clean zone". What more, the units have been isolated to answer the situation of extreme temperatures, such as they exist in Africa.
As a vertical integration strategy, we seek to help our clients by identifying
potential financial sources. Therefore, Propharex maintains regular contacts with regional and international institutions such as the World Bank, the World Health Organization, the C.D.E. (Centre pour le Développement des Entreprises) from the European Union.
This experience within the financing circuits as well as an in depth knowledge of the world pharmaceutical market are assets that enables we conceive each units according to the market conditions, as well as respecting the specific needs of the client and its partners.
Potential clients in Central & Eastern Europe.
Thanks to a 10-year strong experience of manufacturing and working in the Ukrainian and Russian markets, we understood the opportunities that exist in the previously Soviet countries. Indeed, those countries often have a pharmaceutical industry which age and standard do not guarantee the level of quality as required by the latest international standards.
A study made in 2000 by the TACIS program (Technical Assistance to the CIS) of the European Union showed that an investment of 200 million USD in 5 years, would be required for the Ukrainian market alone, to raise its standards to international level.
In many cases, our micro-plants offer an ideal solution, because they're fast and economical, and they enable some companies to renew their industrial equipment without risking a manufacturing breakup and shortages. We are now negotiating with companies located in Ukraine, in Siberia, in Kazakhstan and in Uzbekistan.
ACi Pharma micro lab., is a global solution for Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
ACi Pharma micro lab., Supplies the technology and all necessary support for the manufacturing of medicines destined to human and veterinary usage, and this thanks to its modular construction system.
Our plants are of "turnkey" concept. the modules are fully equipped according to g.m.p. norms: electrical installation, ventilation, air conditioning, canalization, pharmaceutical equipment, etc.
Our modules mainly aim to supply the "clean zones". Although if the client requires it, we can also supply the warehouse for the finished forms and for the raw materials, premises for the secondary packaging, and fully equipped laboratories.
The manufacturing units are fully prepared and constructed within our plant, before being shipped and installed on the site chosen by our client... this latest stage taking no more than 2 to 3 weeks.
ACi Pharma micro lab., can also offer technical assistance, give counsel for the management of the company, or supply the raw material required for the manufacturing process.
The advantages of our modular concept:
. Fully equipped environment corresponding to gmp norms (good manufacturing principles);
. Easy transportation and installation; the plant is fully operational ±12 months after signing the contract; . Cheaper costs compared to other classical solutions;
. Standardization enabling better volumes and cost management;
. Supply of active ingredients, substances, packaging materials, etc.;
. Technical help for the constitution of the registration files;
. Help for the training of the personnel.
. Help for the maintenance.
Our objectives:
. Make available to our clients all the experience we acquired in the manufacturing of generic medicines.
. Supply a quality product and quality services which correspond to the latest norms existing in the pharmaceutical sector.
. Favour the usage of local professionals.
. Spend less foreign currencies.
