The first major exhibition of new paintings by Tunde Owolabi will open at the Acquire art gallery on Wednesday 1st July. The exhibition will include 25 works in total, which include paintings, sculpture and photography.  A private viewing will be held on Thursday 2nd July.

Our client is looking for a Trainee Investment Analyst

The main purpose of this position is to research and analyse shares listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in order to identify investment opportunities from which Portfolio Managers can make decisions thereby adding value to clients’ portfolios.

The objectives of this role include:

- To provide possible buy-list options to Portfolio Managers by applying the Allan Gray investment philosophy and identifying suitable investment opportunities.

- To improve the quality of Portfolio Managers decision-making process by developing detailed valuation and earnings models on appropriate shares.

Our partner of the banking industry is looking for a Product Manager.

The main objective of this position is to manage a defined set of African Bank lending products to ensure optimal positioning in the market place whilst achieving stated profitability and sales objectives. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Product and Customer Management.

Your main tasks will include:

- Develop and implement new products
- Monitor and research key product drivers
- Product management
- Product status and ad hoc reporting
- Product specific and ad hoc support to other business units i.e. Sales, Marketing, Collections, Card etc

This position will be based in Midrand.

In 2006 OECD showed foreign investment in Africa had reach $48 billion, overtaking aid for the first time,It quotes a senior member of the IMF as saying Africa today resembles Asia in the 1980's with the Private Sector, the key driver of growth.

Growth is predicted to run at 3.3%pa this year vs a 6%+ average for the last four years but still better than most of the world.It is still mainly a land of raw materials and commodities so the challenge for Africa is to add value locally as much as possible or else today's investors will just leave behind a ravaged continent. So welcome them but rise to the challenge.
